Dell is the renowned company across the whole planet. It has much to offer to its customers in any
of the computing form. There's no doubt
among many that, so far, the Asus Zenbook UX31 13.3-inch has been the best of
the Ultrabook bunch. the company has manufactured the best top Ultrabooks in past few years. Despite the detestable track pad, it offers Core-i7
goodness and a fantastic design for £999, while you can get the 11.6-inch Asus
Zenbook UX21 version for £800. There’s no getting away from the fact that Dell
have created an incredibly sexy looking notebook. It doesn’t matter from which
angle you look at it; the XPS 13 is definitely a head turner. This is mainly
due to the choice of materials used to build the chassis.
Dell hasn't
been quick to get into the market, but it has waited for rivals to make their
move - something that could play to its advantage. You also get McAfee Security
Center (30 day trial) and Office Starter 2012, which includes Word and Excel.
Other services include one year Dell Online Backup up to 2GB. It has Intel Core i5 and i7 processor options
with either 128GB or 256GB SSD drive options. The ultrabook also has Intel 3000
video graphics and 4GB DDR SDRAM memory.
The Display in this gadget is extraordinary
brilliant in terms of look and performance.
Despite it being a 13-inch display, the 31.6 x 20.5 cm footprint is
narrow and Dell makes no secret of its desire to be smaller than the 13-inch
MacBook Air but with a similar screen size.
The design and build quality are a cut above anything we've seen from
Dell in a long time, and among the best we've seen in any thin-and-light laptop
on the market. The other components include a 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD.
There’s not much in terms of customization on the hardware front as Dell has
already configured three offerings for you.
Software-wise, you get some utilities from Dell,
like DataSafe Online backup and webcam utility. The base, composed of carbon
fiber, has a pleasant soft-touch feel, and it hides the obnoxious service tag
info under a flip-up metal plate for a cleaner look. The matte-black
magnesium-alloy keyboard deck and the aluminum lid add rigidity where it's
needed. The whole machine weighs 3 pounds--nearly the same as Apple's 13-inch Macbook
Air. It offers up to eight hours and 53
minutes of battery life and includes a USB 3.0 port. It also has a built-in
1.3MP webcam.
