Stone Age Plant Regains Life- Technology Times

When we talk about technology, it’s not only making new things.  Technology is a broad term and deals with both microscopic and macroscopic objects. It takes all the values form the discrete nature of science. This is regarding the birth of a plant whose seeds origin date back to 32,ooo years ago.

A flowering plant which originated in Siberia has been successfully planted by the Russian team from the seed cache of Silence Stenophylla.  This shows the remarkable performance in the field of technology.  The scientists came to know about the age of the seeds with the help of Radiocarbon dating.

The seeds were found in the ice were unearthed from 124 feet below the permafrost, which was surrounded by bison and wooly rhinoceros bones.  The seeds were found damaged by the squirrels only, but some of them restored the plant material which ultimately helped to give a birth to a new plant.

They extracted the tissue from the frozen seeds and by applying the very latest technique they gave life to such an old seed.  The plants—identical to each other but with different flower shapes from modern S. Stenophylla—grew, flowered, and, after a year, created seeds of their own.
“I can’t see any intrinsic fault in the article,” said botanist Peter Raven, President Emeritus of the Missouri Botanical Garden, who was not involved in the study. “Though it’s such an extraordinary report that of course you’d want to repeat it.”

So, this is enough to prove that the technology can do anything and the only thing needed is to take an initiative in a positive manner.  Giving life to such a plant reveals the past matter in front of us.  Although it might happen that it won’t show the proper results but there are always new avenues to explore in the field of technology.  This time it is a plant but who knows what we may discover that changes our life like anything. So be a Techno and discover the real world.
