Nokia embeds Nanotechnology to keep phones dry- Technology Times

Technology has no limits since limits tend to infinity in case of technology.  Have you ever thought about the reason behind the leaves covered with water droplets and still water flowing without sticking to it?  This is what the Nokia Research Center in Cambridge is trying to achieve.  They are about to make such a technology that won’t affect the cellphone whenever it comes in water contact.  The leaf acts as water resistant in that case in a similar way Nanotechnology would make this task successful.  This could be one of the wonders of the emerging field of Nanotechnology.

As per Chris Bower, the Principal Scientist at the NRC in Cambridge, “Like many scientists we are trying to copy what nature has been doing perfectly for thousands of years?” Just how are they going to achieve this vision? For starters, the team at NRC is currently in the last stages of working out a Superhydrophobic coating that will be applied to the outside of a smartphone.  This property would surely act as water resistant and would make your smartphone really smart.

When we think a bit more about utilizing this resource then a thought strikes, we would not surely protect our smartphone completely.  This is due to the reason that the cell phone has many small holes and water can get into easily.  So what’s the use of such technology? Well the answer is that it reduces the damage level many-a-times.

Atleast it may help in developing a new material to be used in many ways. Technology is dynamic and so does its inventions!
