iOS 6 Review - Technology Times

The marquee feature is the new Maps app that replaces the Google Maps-based version that has shipped since the original iPhone. The standout part of the new Maps is the much-rumored 3D rendition of cityscapes, a feature Apple is calling Flyover that enables you to fly around photo-realistic recreations of areas and view them from every angle.

The features and specifications of iOS6 are:

1. iOS 6 adds Apple’s own Maps over Google Maps.

2. Integrated with Siri, the new Maps will have turn by turn voice navigation, 3D maps, real time traffic update and a feature called Flyover, which will have photo-realistic interactive 3D views.

3. The intelligence voice assistance on the iPhone 4S, Siri will now be available for the new iPad. Siri has been optimized to be used in 15 countries and can now be used to launch third party applications as well.

4. Apple has also integrated Facebook to the iOS 6 , similar to the Twitter integration in the iOS 5.

5. iOS 6 allows to share photo to your network.

6. Passbook that is an easy to get all the passes in one place, including boarding passes. This app can scan the iPhone or iPod Touch to use a coupon, get  or check into the hotel.

7. Safari has been updated with iCloud tabs for offline reading lists, support for Face Time calls over cellular network.

Though this operating system is not updated and according to the organization it will take a few months to finally introduce the upgraded version still this new operating system iOS 6 is incorporated with a number of exciting features and enhancements. We have already dealt with the features like Siri, importantly refurbished map and the system wide integration of Facebook.  Apart from these important features there are a number of other features which are included in iOS 6 developed by Apple. It is equipped with a global HTTP proxy option that will replace the current approach. It also includes video and audio sampling at the time of playback. Now it is the time to take a look at the few more features which are completely new to most of us.  iOS 6 will ship this autumn, although a beta test is available to developers from the Apple Developer Connection. It will supports iPhone 3GS or later, second and third generation iPad, and the fourth-generation iPod touch.
